The hot & sunny weather can often take toll on your health, especially on your skin and hair. Hence you need to take extra caution during summer and invest time and effort in taking care of your body as a whole. We present a summer regimen for skin care with three parts that focus mainly on pampering and protecting your skin.

4 basic tips to take care of your skin for hot summer months:

1. EXFOLIATE

Your smooth, silky skin is hiding under the tan, dust and dirt. Simply scrub its surface using exfoliants. Exfoliating removes all the extra-dry patches formed on your elbow and knees. You can also try body mask as it helps to take out all the skin impurities. Masks do take more time but are worth the extra effort.

2. HAIR REMOVAL

You must get rid off all the extra unwanted hair. Whatever you prefer- be it depilatories, razors or home waxing kits- the motto this summer should be get rid of unwanted skin hair to ensure sensitive skin.

3. MOISTURIZE YOUR FEET

Feet are the most abused body part. Scrub your feet to get rid of the dry spots using a pumice stone and dab on generous amount of moisturizer. Your feet need moisturizing not only in winters but summers also demand moisturizing as your skin cannot sustain the requisite level of hydration levels on its own.

4. PROTECT FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT – USE A GOOD SUNSCREEN

Protecting your skin from direct sun is the best investment done to protect your skin’s health. Do you use sunscreen as often as you should? Modern sunscreens are better, more convenient to apply, and more resistant to sweat and water with loads of antioxidants to boost your skin’s natural capabilities. Apply sunscreen to your entire body just 30 minutes before stepping out in the sun. Apply sunscreens in generous amount to cover your skin properly.  Use sunscreens with al least SPF (Sun Protection Formula) of 15. Sunscreens with SPF 30 provide protection as well as 95 percent and also allow you to stay in the sun for longer duration. It is true that your skin needs to be protected from the UV rays that cause premature aging of the skin.
